 Both knives are made of high-quality spring steel with a hardness of 55 HRC and have a durable electrophoretic coating. The FM 78 field knife is available in black. The FM 81 survival knife is available in 4 colors (black, gray, battle field green and dark earth) and also has a saw blade on the back of the blade.
